Iconic Tracks Tour

From AUD $4,150.00
  • Duration: 21 Days (approx.)
  • Product code: PXWRCC

Starting in
Kununurra in Western Australia, we head south to Halls Creek before turning
left onto the Tana mi Track, enjoying such sites along the way as Wolfe Creek
Crater. After a few days on the Tana mi we arrive at the oasis they call Alice
Springs. Here we spend a couple of days exploring The Alice, including the
Transport Hall of Fame. From Alice we head south down The Old Ghan rail line to
Chambers Pillar. This route is nothing short of spectacular, and eventually we
will be arriving at Lamberts Geographical Centre of Australia. From here we
touch on the western edge of the Simpson Desert at the Mount Dare Hotel. Be sure
to bring your swimmers for a relaxing afternoon in Dalhousie Springs.

Oodnadatta is
our next stop, and here we will join the Oodnadatta Track. On the Oodnadatta
Track you will see such sites as Lake Eyre South, numerous rail bridges on the
now-disused Old Ghan Line, and what a lot of people say is one of the biggest
and best art galleries in the outback. Marree forms the junction of the
Oodnadatta and Birdsville Tracks. This historic town has some great railway
memorabilia, and boasts the oldest mosque in the country, courtesy of the
Afghan Cameleers. Be sure to check

out the Tom
Kruse (The Birdsville Mailman) Room in the Marree hotel. From Marree, we head
for Lyndhurst and the start of the Strzelecki Track. We will spend 2 days on
the Strzelecki before arriving at Cameron Corner, the junction of New South
Wales, South Australia and Queensland.

Our trip will
finish with a farewell dinner at Tibooburra.
